Toshiba unveils its new conception, the Toshiba PDR-M81 which is a great camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in North America on the 28/5/01. The Toshiba PDR-M81 is sold at a price of 800in the US, a great price for such a camera. This nice camera measures 107 x 47 x 71 mm and weights 340 g. The PDR-M81 offers a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1600. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1200 x 800, 720 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Toshiba PDR-M81 has been set at 3:2, for a total of 3.8 mega pixels. The sensor of the PDR-M81 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/1.8 " with a RGB color filter.
Toshiba implemented a digital zoom on the PDR-M81 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 80 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the PDR-M81 is 15 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/1000 seconds.
